Frequently asked questions

What printing products do you provide?

We print a large range of printed products, including business cards, letterheads, compliment slips, envelopes, company reports, newsletters, invitations, postcards, restaurant menus, business forms, marketing and promotional printing, leaflets, flyers, folded leaflets and flyers, booklets, presentation folders, posters, banners, vouchers/promotional cards and much more.

What is CMYK?

CMYK stands for Cyan (blue), Magenta (red), Yellow and Key (black). It is the colour system used in printing and it involves mixing various percentages of these colours together in a dot, to produce the colours in an image.

What is print resolution?

Resolution is the term used to describe the number of dots or pixels used to display an image. When printing, a resolution of 300DPI (dots per inch) is needed to produce a crisp, clean image that can be blown up without comprising the quality.

What are bleeds?

A bleed is used when the image needs to go all the way to the edge of the page. Printers have a maximum printable area that is slightly smaller than the paper size. Therefore, the image should extend 3mm over the finished size. When the paper is cut after printing, any white borders are eliminated.

What are crop marks?

Crop marks are the crossed lines printed on the corners of a page to define exactly where the print artwork is to be cut to size after printing.

What sort of paper should I be printing on?

Choosing the right paper and finish is a crucial aspect of quality printing. We can advise and guide you through the selection process, as well as provide a wide range of options. Our stock options include matt, silk or gloss finishes in a wide range of weights, known as gsm (grams per square metre).

Can you guarantee colour matching?

Our advanced printers provide the closest colour match possible. However, as is the case with any print run, subtle colour variations can occur. If you require colour matching, please ask us about our pantone colour matching services.

What are print proofs?

A print proof is used to ensure that the text, colour and image placement are correct before the print run. A proof can help you avoid frustrating and costly errors.

Do you provide graphic design services?

Yes. Please read more about our graphic design services here.

What files and information do I need to supply?

A thorough brief is essential to any design work and the better the brief, the more closely the end product will match your requirements. We will discuss your particular requirements and make sure that we obtain all the necessary details, but in general you will need to supply an idea/concept, the content you want included, any images you want included, your budget and your time constraint. Where possible, it is also helpful to include examples of similar styles that you like.

Can I provide my own print design?

Yes, we are happy to handle just the print aspect of your project.

Can you write the copy for me?

We can provide copywriting services, which will be charged at an hourly rate.

How quickly can I have my printing?

We pride ourselves in a highly efficient service, and will have most print jobs dispatched for delivery within 1 to 2 working days. If you are in a hurry, contact us to discuss our priority printing services. For pre-print design services, an estimated timeframe will be given on a case-by-case basis, depending on the degree of assistance required.
